Teresa Heavner, M.D. is a native of Rockingham, NC.  She earned her MD degree from Bowman Gray in 1987, then went on to complete a three year residency in family medicine in Bangor, Maine. She has been with Chatuge Family Practice since August 1990.  She has been the Medical Director of the local hospice since its inception in 1991 as well as the Cherokee County Health Department.  She is active with Clay County Care Center and Murphy Medical Center nursing homes.  Her interests are travel, reading, crosswords, and working in her yard.
